Full depth pavement replacement of the first 1,000 feet of asphalt at each end of the runway with concrete to include associated grading and drainage adjustments, with all new pavement grooves and new pavement markings. Mill and overlay the remaining internal asphalt portion of the runway with hot mix asphalt (HMA) and provide airfield markings. Repair and regrade airfield electrical and lighting systems to accommodate airfield pavement repairs. All work shall be accomplished in accordance with (IAW) the contract specifications, drawings, and as directed by the Contracting Officer (CO). The contract will include Bid Schedules A and B as shown in Appendix A, Sheet GC-002, and the associated phasing plan shown on Sheet CT-003, modified as follows. The 31 ends (east end) will be displaced and reconstructed first, and the 13 end (west end) reconstructed second, prior to the completed closure for phase 3. Additionally, once Contractor completes each of the Turnarounds (Runway 31 end and Runway 13 end), the Government requires two weeks down-time to allow heavy aircraft usage of the runway. Final markings are to be applied to the ends to allow operational use of the full runway length. Please forward questions to us in time to submit to the Government on 7 September. The rough order of magnitude (ROM) for this project is between $25,000,000 and $100,000,000 in accordance with (IAW) DFARS 236.204.
