The West Campus Parking Deck II will provide nearly 1,100 parking spaces. A conceptual plan proposes a structure approximately 48,000 sf in its footprint, with a total gross area of approximately 340,000 square feet. The anticipated area of disturbance for construction is approximately 2.5 acres. The proposed Deck is planned to consist of approximately eight (8) levels, including a partial level of parking at the ground tier entry on grade and seven (7) full parking tiers above. Parking floor plate design is likely to be a single helix typology with 3 double loaded bays and the park-on ramp located in the middle bay. Two entry/exit points are planned: one on the ground tier from the surface parking lot on the east side and another that is elevated from Church Street on the west side of the Deck. The lowest level of the Deck may need to be mechanically ventilated (pending further design consideration of adjacent slopes and retaining wall separation) whereas levels two (2) and above are planned to be naturally ventilated. If IBC 2021 is adopted by the State of Georgia prior to permits being received, the Deck will be sprinklered to meet that new code requirement. For planning purposes, the cost of providing sprinklers throughout the deck has been included in the proposed budget estimate. Question Deadline 07/26/2023 at 4:00 PM ET
