Fort Missoula Area is home to the Forest Service (FS), Northern Region 1 and LNF Office. The surrounding landscape has numerous trees of varying height and complexity. FS Silviculturists have identified 35 deciduous trees in need of felling and removal or trimming. These trees have been acknowledged as presenting a human and structural hazard due to overgrowth and/or "snag" status: 4 deciduous trees approximately 20' in height requiring felling and removal and 31 deciduous trees ranging from 20'-60' in height in need of trimming. All trees will be marked and labeled by the FS for identification. Contractor shall comply with the following: Supply all required permits Fell and remove 4 identified trees on the premise. Tree stumps will remain no greater than 4" above ground level. Trim 31 identified trees on the premise. Dead-wooding and thinning out of each tree. Any damage to or destruction of facilities is the responsibility of the contractor Site cleanup Plains RD is one of five units within the LNF. Silviculturists have identified 6 coniferous trees presenting structural and human hazard. These trees are approximately 80'-100' in height that requiring felling. Upon felling of these 6 trees FS personnel will handle the removal and disposal. All trees will be marked and labeled by the FS for identification. Contractor shall comply with the following: Supply all required permits Fell 6 identified trees on the premises. Tree stumps will remain to greater than 4" above ground level. Any damage to or destruction of facilities is the responsibility of the contractor Superior RD is also one of the five units within the LNF. Silviculturists have identified 15 coniferous trees presenting structural hazard surrounding government housing. These trees ranging from 79'-121' in height need felling and removal. All trees will be marked and labeled by the FS for identification. Contractor shall comply with the following: Supply all required permits Fell and remove 15 identified trees on the premise. Tree stumps will remain to greater than 4" above ground level. Any damage to or destruction of facilities is the responsibility of the contractor Site cleanup All trees will be identified with a specific color marking chalk or ribbon corresponding to the trees to be trimmed, felled, or felled and removed. The COR will provide those details on sight. The POP will be from 9/5/2023 - 10/27/2023. The contractor shall have a two-week timeline at each of the three locations to complete the assigned work from the issuance of the Notice To Proceed (NTP).
