The scope of this project includes, but is not necessarily limited to, the construction of a 640 square foot shop addition with a storage mezzanine. Exterior walls will be load-bearing concrete masonry units. Roof construction is metal bar joists, steel decking, rigid insulation, and single-ply membrane roofing system. The existing buildings fire suppression system will be extended to the addition. The addition will be conditioned by a stand-alone mechanical system and not tied into the buildings existing HVAC system. New electrical home runs and branch circuitry will power and light the addition. Existing conditions shall be field verified by the Bidder prior to submitting a bid proposal. Board of Trustees reserves the right to accept or reject any bid or waive informality or errors in bidding, to award the contract to their interests, and to hold the bids for a period of thirty (30) days from the bid date. Contractors receiving award shall be required to furnish an approved Performance Bond, Labor and Material Payment Bond for one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract amount which shall be in full force and effect for twelve (12) months from date of acceptance of the work. Bonds shall be furnished within ten (10) days after written notice to proceed with the work. Contractors and subcontractors are notified that they are required to pay no less than the Illinois Department of Labor Prevailing Wage Standards set forth and approved by the Illinois Department of Labor and enclosed in the Project Manual. To qualify as a Business Enterprise Program entity, prime or subcontractors must be certified by the Department of Central Management Services of the State of Illinois as BEP vendors prior to contract award. Bids submitted with small, minority-owned, veteran-owned, and/or women-owned (BEP) business participation; whether as primary contractor, sub-contractor, material vendor, etc.; should indicate the percentage of work associated with the BEP businesses.
