To be qualified, an individual or firm must possess a residential contractor's, building contractor's, or general contractor's license. The proposed project shall elevate a flood prone residential structure at least six (6) feet above the Base flood Elevation (BFE + 6') or the highest known elevation, whichever is higher. The structure is located at 610A&B Sunset Blvd W, Fort Walton Beach, FL 32547; in the X Zone but has suffered repeated damage from floods resulting in National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) claims. The structure shall be elevated on stem walls and individual piers on a continuous footer and a new concrete slab shall be placed under the elevated structure. Construction of appropriate means of ingress and egress shall be provided and all utilities and equipment shall also be elevated to the required height. The habitable areas of the original structure shall be elevated and the non-habitable areas (if any) shall be converted to storage or parking. The project shall be designed and constructed in compliance with the Florida Building Code, ASCE 24-14 or the latest edition, NFIP standards in 44 CFR, Part 60 and/or local floodplain ordinances or any other applicable local regulations.
