Fox Valley Technical is requesting sealed bids to replace a bridge near the west parking lot of the Main Campus, located at 1825 North Bluemound Drive in Appleton, WI. The bridge is used by pedestrians to access the walking trail, and occasionally there is pickup truck traffic for snow removal and miscellaneous maintenance of the walking trail. This work will be awarded to one contractor. Each bid shall be accompanied by bid security in the sum of five percent (5%) of the total bid amount plus alternates. The required security must be in the form of a certified or bank cashier's check made payable to Fox Valley Technical College or a bid bond issued by a surety licensed to conduct business in the State of Wisconsin and named in the current list of "Surety Companies Acceptable On Federal Bonds" as published in the Federal Register by the Audit Staff Bureau of Accounts, U.S. Treasury Department. The Surety Company must have an AM Best rating of A- or better. Simultaneously with the delivery of the signed Contract, the Contractor shall furnish bonds covering faithful performance of the Contract and the payment of all obligations arising there under, issued by a corporate surety acceptable to Owner and authorized to do business in the State of Wisconsin, in accordance with statutory requirements. The bonds shall be provided on forms known as Bond of Public Contractor, in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the total base bid amount which includes all owner direct purchases. There can be no amendments to the bond without acknowledgement from the owner. The Surety Company must have an AM Best rating of A- or better. The specified performance and payment bond will be AIA A312. FVTC reserves the right to negotiate the terms of the Contract, including the award amount, with the selected Contractor prior to entering into a Contract. If contract negotiations cannot be concluded successfully with the lowest bid Contractor, FVTC may negotiate a Contract with the next lowest bid Contractor. During the time period from the issue date of this IFB until FVTC has notified all Contractors of its decision, all contact with any other FVTC or Wisconsin Technical College System employee concerning this IFB is prohibited. Contractor is responsible for complying with all Federal, State, and Local regulations, codes and to obtain all permits required to perform this work. C. Contractor is responsible for coordinating final inspection, if needed. D. Unless stated otherwise, comply with FVTC Construction Specification Standards ("FVTC Stds."). E. Contractor is responsible for final clean of construction & adjacent areas. F. Contractor is responsible for verifying all dimensions. G. Contractor is responsible for protection of all equipment and other items within the area
