Facade Rehabilitation Program City of Des Plaines Public Works Building and City of Des Plaines Civic Center. The Public Works portion of the project is located at the existing building at 1111 Joseph Schwab Road in Des Plaines, IL. The existing building is a one story masonry building used for municipal storage and repairs. Intermittent areas of the masonry are showing signs of deterioration requiring rebuilding, brick replacement, grinding and pointing along with sealant replacement. Assessment shall be made of the current condition of the existing lintels. If lintels need to be replaced, will be under unit price provisions. The masonry wall rehabilitation portion of the project is located at the second floor of the Des Plaines Civic Center located at 1420 Miner Street in Des Plaines, IL.(approx. 565 sq. ft.) The wall is a masonry wall dividing the city hall/civic center from the tenant spaces to the east. The existing wall is capped with cut stone coping. The exterior masonry wall has been previously pointed and patched. Intermittent areas of the masonry are showing signs of deterioration requiring rebuilding, brick replacement, grinding and pointing along with sealant replacement. The Base Bid Program is described below along with unit pricing for select items and found in the following Project Manual sections. Alternate bids are also requested and described below and in the following Project Manual Sections. We are asking the Contractor who bids on this project and who are successful in obtaining the contract for 2023 construction season. The successful contractor is expected to perform the work at both locations.
