The City of Pittsburgh Office of Management and Budget, on behalf of the Department of Public Works, is soliciting masonry repair of a parapet wall at Medic 14 / Rescue 2 at 344 Blvd. of the Allies, Pittsburgh, PA 15222. Bids on this project cannot exceed thirty thousand dollars ($30,000.00). Awarded Contractor shall be responsible for mobilization, including transporting all necessary equipment, scaffolding and materials through building and to the subject roof area. Responsibility shall also include setting up a stationary systems-type scaffold on roof area to perform work along the western side elevation of parapet wall approximately 25' in length x 18' in height. Contractor will also be responsible for clean up of work area and demobilization from project. A structural assessment in 2022 revealed a parapet wall that requires significant repair, including grinding and repointing the entire western and northern faces of the wall, and resetting loose bricks. (See Scope for additional details.) This area of concern should be addressed for the safety of the building's occupants and the long-term health of the building. Images of the wall and the areas that require repair can be found in Attachments. The City reserves the right to request clarification of any bid before bid award. The City reserves the right to reject, for any reason, any or all bids if it is in the best interest(s) of the City to do so. By submitting a bid, the bidder warrants that if the City makes an award to the bidder, bidder shall, at the option of the City, enter into a written contract with the City. This contract shall consist of the terms and conditions set forth in the solicitation, specifications, and these General Conditions and Instructions to Bidders. If no bid bond or substitute is required and bidder fails or refuses to execute the required documents within thirty (30) days after award by City, bidder shall pay to the City the difference in the amount specified in bidder's bid and the amount City shall pay to fulfill the specifications. * Clean northern and western faces of loose mortar and debris. * Re-lay loose bricks in new mortar. Furnish additional brick if necessary. * Cut out and repoint 100% of all brick masonry joints on the west and north elevations of the subject wall area. Ship To the location detailed below. If blank, vendor shall use Ship To location detailed on Purchase Order(s). Shipping and delivery costs must be included with vendor's submitted response pricing under the Pricing Proposals section. The City of Pittsburgh will not pay for nor reimburse separate shipping, handling, or delivery fees. Purchase orders placed under this solicitation will be F.O.B. Destination.
