**As of August 16, 2023, this project has not yet been awarded. You can check back after the 18th of August.** The Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, and equipment necessary for reconstruction of approximately 80 square yards of concrete sidewalk on Main Street in Norway, Maine. The work is generally between Whitman Street and Greenleaf Avenue in 16 different locations. In general, the work includes removing the existing concrete sidewalk sections and installing new concrete sidewalk sections. All work shall conform to the Maine Department of Transportation Specification Section 608- Sidewalks, as applicable to concrete sidewalks. The proposed work shall include the following items: 1. Construction signage and traffic control. 2. Remove existing concrete sidewalk. 3. Grade existing aggregate base prior to placing concrete. 4. Install 4" thick concrete sidewalk with welded steel wire fabric reinforcing. Use Town supplied stamped concrete template in curb locations. 5. Portland cement concrete shall be Class A (4,000 psi concrete). 6. Install cast iron detectable warning plates at 3 locations. 7. Tooled joints and broom finish. 8. All new Portland cement concrete surfaces shall have protective coating applied in accordance with MDOT Specification Section 515.
