The work will include, but not necessarily be limited to, 150 tons of wearing course, 170 tons of binder course, and other work specified in the contract. Project consists of the reconstruction of Swartz Street and paving overlay of 31st Street and Charles Street on the designated sections. Project location: Swartz Street from Hillside to 31st; 31st Street from Hoffer to Charles and Charles from 31st to midblock A certified check or bid bond for the amount of ten percent of the total bid shall be required. Bonds are to be issued by a surety licensed to do business in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Accompanying this proposal is a certified check or bid bond in the amount of 10% of the Bid Amount Only those questions submitted online via PennBID shall be considered. Questions received after 5:00 PM on July 27, 2023 regarding the project will not be acknowledged. This contract is subject to the following: the Federal Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970 (OSHA) conditions; the Pennsylvania Act 229 of 2002; the Pennsylvania One Call Act, also known as the Underground Utility Line Protection Law, Act 287 of 1974, as amended; the Pennsylvania Human Relations Act 222 Conditions; the Non-discrimination in Employment/Contract Compliance Regulations Conditions; requirement of a non-collusion affidavit; and the Public Works Employment Verification Act. Penbrook Borough reserves the right to accept or reject any or all Bids. If designated as the successful bidder, the contractor will begin work on the date specified in the notice to proceed, or as otherwise provided in the special requirements, and will complete all work on or before October 31, 2023
