The City of Wheaton is requesting construction services for improving the electrical system at Liberty Square in Downtown Wheaton. Liberty Square is a 1/3-acre park on the northwest corner of West Liberty Dr and West St. The park is on the south side of the Downtown Wheaton Metra Train Station, and on the north side of a PACE bus stop on Liberty Dr. The project involves upgrading the existing electrical service to feed the existing loads for a traffic signal and lighting and adding loads for new receptacle pedestals. The work will involve replacing an old controller cabinet with a new controller cabinet, connecting a new electrical service, and installing a site electrical power distribution system that includes conduit layout, hand-holes, and 14 receptacle pedestals. The City reserves the right to modify the estimates, or remove them in their entirety, whichever is in the best interests of the City. When specifically requested by the City, Bidder shall provide a Bid Bond / Bid Deposit of 10% of the full Contract price.Maintenance Bond IS Required. The successful Bidder shall be required to furnish a Maintenance Bond equal to ten percent (10%) When specifically requested by City in Exhibit A, Contractor shall furnish with the executed Agreement, performance and payment bonds equal to one-hundred and ten percent (100%) of the full contract price, on forms approved by the City, as security for the faithful performance and completion of all the Contractor's obligations under the Contract Documents, including, but not limited to Contractors Prevailing Wage Act obligations under this Agreement, and covering the payment of aII materials used in the performance of this Agreement and for all labor and services performed under this Agreement.
