Perkins Road Sewer Replacement. Replacement of three sewer services totaling approximately 77LF of six-inch PVC or DI, and replacement of two sewer manholes The work under this Contract consists of excavation and removal of approximately 217 linear feet of 8-inch asbestos cement pipe (lined with cured-in-place pipe), and replaced with 217 linear feet of 8-inch PVC, approximately 55 linear feet of which will be encased in concrete. The replacement work includes the replacement of three (3) sewer services, totaling approximately 77 linear feet of 6-inch PVC or DI, and replacement of two (2) sewer manholes and temporary/permanent paving of the road. There will be an Add Alternate 1 consisting of milling and overlaying the entirety of Perkins Road, repairing sections of berm and sidewalks, adjusting castings and installing handicap ramps. The contract duration for the Base Bid shall be 55 calendar days to complete all work, not including final paving, commencing ten days following the effective date of the Agreement. The contract duration for Add Alternate 1 shall be 30 calendar days, not including the winter shutdown. Final paving shall be completed at least 90 calendar days after temporary pavement installation or as instructed by the Owner, and in accordance with the terms as stated in the Agreement. A pre-bid conference is not contemplated for this Work The undersigned hereby agrees that the Base Bid Work shall be completed within 55 calendar days of the Notice to Proceed and in accordance with the terms as stated in the Agreement, and Add Alternate 1 Work will be completed within 30 calendar days, excluding the winter shutdown. It is anticipated that all work will be completed by June 3, 2024 The undersigned further agrees to pay OWNER, as liquidated damages, $500.00 per day for each calendar day beyond the Contract Time Limit or extension thereof that the Work remains incomplete, in accordance with the terms of the Agreement. All questions about the meaning or intent of the Contract Documents shall be received in writing by the Town of Danvers, 1 Burroughs Street, Danvers MA 01923 Attn: Henry Clarke, at least ten days before the date herein set for the opening of bids. Written clarifications or interpretations will be issued by Addenda not later than five days before the bid opening date. Only questions answered by formal written Addenda will be binding. Oral and other clarifications or interpretations will be without legal effect. No Bidder may withdraw his/her Bid for a period of thirty days, excluding Saturdays, Sundays, and legal holidays, after the actual date of the opening of the Bids. The Successful Bidder must furnish a 100 percent Construction Performance Bond and a 100 percent Construction Payment Bond with a surety company acceptable to the Owner. Owner reserves the right to reject any or all Bids, including without limitation, nonconforming, nonresponsive, unbalanced, or conditional Bids. Owner further reserves the right to reject the Bid of any Bidder whom it finds, after reasonable inquiry and evaluation, not to be responsible or eligible. Owner may also reject the Bid of any Bidder if Owner reasonably believes that it would not be in the best interest of the Project or the public to make an award to that Bidder. Owner also reserves the right to waive all informalities not involving price, time, or changes in the Work and to negotiate contract terms with the Successful Bidder.
