Patching repair shall consist of the removal of areas of unsound pavement material as indicated on attached patching locations and/or as determined by the Engineer and replacing these areas with asphalt concrete. Asphalt Patching shall consist of the removal of specified areas of the remaining asphalt thickness of the pavement section and replacing such areas with asphalt concrete as specified in the Contract or as directed by the Engineer. In the event an Asphalt Patch fails prior to overlay, the Contractor will be responsible for removing and replacing the failed patch at no cost to VDOT. Generally, the Project includes, but is not limited to, roadway improvements at Summit School Road, Telegraph Road, Minnieville Road and Prince William Parkway. The project is located in Woodbridge, Virginia and generally consists of the widening of the existing Telegraph Road and construction of a new segment of Summit School Road. More specifically, the project is comprised of the construction of an extension of Summit School Road from its existing terminus at Kinnicutt Drive a distance of approximately 0.8 miles to the existing intersection of Telegraph Road and the 1-95 Express Lanes / Homer Road Park & Ride Lot Access Road. Portions of existing Telegraph Road will be abandoned and reconstructed to form a "tee" intersection with the proposed extension of Summit School Road. The project also includes the widening of Telegraph Road a distance of approximately 0.4 miles from a point approximately 250 feet south of Prince William Parkway to Caton Hill Road. The project includes the installation of new turn lanes along existing Summit School Road at the intersections of Kinnicutt Drive and Harpers Hill Way and along Minnieville Road at its intersection with Summit School Road. The project includes the installation of new traffic signals at the intersections of Prince William Parkway and Telegraph Road and Summit School Road and Kinnicutt Drive. The project also includes traffic signal modifications at the intersections of Telegraph Road and Caton Hill Road, Telegraph Road and the 1-95 Express Lanes / Homer Road Park & Ride Lot Access Road and Summit School Road and Minnieville Road Work includes, but is not limited to, the installation of erosion control devices, clearing and grubbing, grading, excavation, supplying and installing storm sewers pipes, sanitary sewer, waterline, Stormwater Management (SWM) Facilities, traffic signals, signage, pavement markings, lighting, drainage structures, ditches, curb and gutter, concrete sidewalk, asphalt paving, mill and overlaying, and all measures required for the maintenance of traffic during construction. All work shall be performed in accordance with the approved project plans and bid documents. The completed project must meet any and all of the requirements for final acceptance by the Virginia Department of Transportation. This solicitation is governed by the Virginia Department of Labor and Industry Prevailing Wage Rates.
