This Invitation to Tender is being issued by the Health Organization for a Mechanical Contractor for the LGH HOpe L4 Sanitary Clean Out project. VCH has decided to facilitate revisions of the existing plumbing services at the Hope Centre at the Lions Gate Hospital (LGH) in North Vancouver to provide for a less maintenance intensive plumbing system. The Hope Centre was built in 2014 and acts as an in-house mental patient care unit and some of the patients at times flush large amount of toilet paper in the washrooms, which cause major blockages within the sanitary drainage pipeline. These blockages then can cause flooding, which then floods the entire 3rd and 4th floors, which then needs to be shut down for long hours to remove the blockage and clean the floors. To resolve this ongoing issue VCH and design team have designed plumbing systems revision that include installing several new sanitary cleanouts (above flood level rim) throughout the 4th floor will allow quicker and safer servicing of the system during drainage backup. The duration of the Work is anticipated to be 16 weeks. The estimated Ready-for-take-over date is October 27, 2023. Documents can be obtained from https://fraserhealth.bidsandtenders.ca/
