Potential bidders who have not been prequalified by GDOT. Once on the website select "Prequalification". A bid response received by any firm not currently listed on GDOT's prequalification listing will not be considered for award for this solicitation. The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) is seeking a PRE-QUALIFIED firm interested in providing Demolition of Improvements, Structures or Other Encumbrances in the Right of Way or Easement Areas. GDOT will select the lowest, responsive and responsible bidder based on analysis of bid prices received. Bidders are responsible for checking this solicitation for any/all updates. It is the bidder's responsibility to ensure that its bid(s) arrive on or before the specified time. No bids will be accepted after the time set for receipt. CAUTION: A RESTRICTION OF COMMUNICATION IS IN EFFECT FOR THIS PROJECT. From the advertisement date of this solicitation until a successful respondent is selected and the selection is announced, respondents are not allowed to communicate about this solicitation or scope with any staff of GDOT, including the Commissioner, and Board Members, except for submission of questions as instructed in the ITB, or as provided by any existing work agreement(s). For violation of this provision, GDOT reserves the right to reject the submittal of the offending Respondent. Question Deadline 07/06/2023 at 2:00 PM ET The Georgia Department of Transportation has adopted a 15% overall annual goal for DBE participation on all projects. This goal is not to be considered as a fixed quota, set aside or preference. The DBE goal can be met by prime contracting, sub-contracting, joint venture or mentor/ protégé relationship. Questions about any aspect of this solicitation, or the project, shall be submitted in writing via e-mail to R. Steve Farrar, email RFarrar@dot.ga.gov . The deadline for submission of questions relating to this solicitation is the time and date shown in the (Schedule of Events- Section III above). From the issue date of this solicitation until a successful bidder is selected and the award is made official and announced, respondents are subject to the Restriction of Communication in Section I.B (above). GDOT reserves the right to cancel any solicitations where it is determined to be in the best interest of the Department to do so. GDOT reserves the right to increase, reduce, add, or delete any item in this solicitation as deemed necessary. It is the responsibility of all firms interested in submitting a bid for this solicitation to routinely check the posting on the Georgia Procurement Registry for any revisions to this solicitation. Prior to contract award only the low bidding firm will be required to provide a Performance Bond to the Department in the amount of 100 percent (%) of the total bid price. A bid security bond in the amount of five (5) percent of the total bid price is required to be submitted with the bid response package. The Department acknowledges that said bid security has been submitted in the form of bid bond, or certified check made payable to "the Georgia Department of Transportation". The undersigned agrees that the bid security is the proper measure of liquidated damages which the Department will sustain by the failure of the Undersigned to execute this agreement as required if this proposal is accepted by the Department. The Department shall return the amount of the bid security bond cashier check, bid bond or certified check to the awarded Contractor once the project has been successfully completed, accepted and paid by the Department. The Department shall return the bid security bond cashier check or certified check to the Respondent(s) not receiving an award. The Undersigned further agrees to the following: If this proposal is accepted by the Undersigned as previously stated and the Undersigned fails to begin the work immediately after the ten (10) day notification period ends, the Department may at its discretion, terminate this Agreement and the Undersigned agrees to forfeit the above stated bid security to the Department as a proper measure of liquidated damages.
