The scope of work shall address the key objectives described in this RFP. The contractor may add optional tasks to the proposed scope of work, as they deem appropriate to satisfy the needs of the project. Any proposed optional tasks shall include detailed descriptions of work, labor hours and fees, and recommended schedule. All deliverables shall include hard copies and unprotected electronic files in the format requested by the District. The contractor will provide a proposal that identifies its approach to stop the groundwater seepage into the exhaust vent pipe. The contractor is expected to state what will need to be changed and provide a cost in the cost proposal section. The plan must include adequate safeguards to prevent the dry well equipment from getting excessively wet during construction. The existing fan will be removed and replaced by the District. If desired, the contractor may contact Charlie Casias at (801) 955-2204 to arrange a site visit to the dry well. The District can provide video footage of the pipes current condition upon request The District requires construction services to repair its dry well exhaust system piping at the Warner Lift Station located 2600 S 5370 W, West Valley City, Utah. The exhaust system includes a 12" diameter pipe approximately 50 feet deep which supplies fresh air to the dry well. The dry well contains circuit boards, motors, conduit, and non-submersible pumps. The vent pipe is composed of both steel and PVC. Due to excessive corrosion of the steel pipe, groundwater seeps into the pipe which necessitates frequent replacements of the fan. The District believes installation of a Cured-in-Place Pipe (CIPP) liner may adequately address the leakage issue, but the contractor may propose any alternative deemed appropriate.
