The selected contractor shall provide all materials, labor, and equipment for the project titled Replace Transformer & Load Break at the Federal Correctional Complex (FCI) Milan located in Milan, Michigan in accordance with the attached Statement of Work and Drawings. All work shall be completed per NEC 2020, NESC, and Bureau of Prison Technical Design Guidelines. o All equipment and wire shall be at least 15 KV rated. o All conduit besides underground shall be RMC with watertight fittings o All conductors shall be copper o Fuses: Provide six of each type and rating used. Include spares for fusible devices. Fuses shall match type installed and be packaged with protective covering for storage and identified with labels describing contents. o Provide a strip heater in each switch and switchgear, and a dedicated power circuit for the heater. o The medium voltage switches shall be manually operated and rated at 600-to-1200-amp continuous load break with required fault ratings. The switch mechanism shall provide quick closing and opening independent of the handle speed. The switch shall be cable connected to the transformer to prevent sound transmission to the switch. o Three (3) current limiting fuses are to be provided on the load side of the medium voltage switch in the medium voltage switch compartment. Provide the following interlocking capabilities: -The hinged access door shall be interlocked with the switch to prevent closing of the switch until the door is closed. -Key interlock the access to the fuse such that both switches must be opened before fuses can be accessed. -The following accessories are to be provided: -Terminal compartment. -Lightning arrestor. -Interlocks. -Potheads/Clamp terminals.
