Question Deadline 09/06/2023 at 3:00 PM CT The County reserves the right to waive informalities in bids to reject any or all bids with or without cause and accept the bid that in its judgment is in the best interest of the County Escambia County Business License General or Marine Specialty State Contractors License The purpose of this project is to repair damages to the Casino Beach Fishing Pier (also known as the Pensacola Beach Gulf Pier) caused by Hurricane Sally. The Casino Beach Fishing Pier is 1,471 feet long with a typical width of 20 feet. It extends out from Santa Rosa Island into the Gulf of Mexico at Casino Beach in Pensacola, Florida. Work activities include: concrete crack and spall repairs to piles, pile caps, beams, columns, and cast in place concrete deck pours; removal and storage of metal pedestrian barricades currently in use as pedestrian railing; demolition of remaining timber railing, lights, conduit, and water line; construction of new timber railing; replacement of damaged timber blow-out deck panels; replacement of pier signage; replacement of pier lighting; replacement of the pier water line; replacement of the pier entrance gate; and installing miscellaneous items such as viewing scopes, cameras, benches, trash cans, fishing line receptacles, and a flag pole removed during the pedestrian rail replacement. The new pedestrian railing, deck panel replacement, and installation of lights will comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act Guidelines (ADA) and the Florida Fish and Wildlife restrictions for turtle lighting. The project will include the installation of an impressed current cathodic protection system for the prestressed concrete beams as a mitigation measure to reduce the potential for future damage. Utility coordination will be required for both electrical and water. The fishing pier will be closed for the duration of construction. All work over water will be performed from the top without placing construction equipment in the water and using a method to prevent debris from falling into the water. Each offer shall be accompanied by a bid bond, cashier's check, or certified check in the amount of 5% of the total offer The County Must require the successful Offeror(s) to furnish separate Performance and Payment bonds, under pledge of adequate surety and covering up to 100% of the dollar value of the award / an amount specified (i.e. $5,000.00) on the forms provided by the County
