The project is expected to be awarded approximately August 22nd.** Each separate bid must be accompanied by certified check or bank cashier's check payable to the Owner, or a bid bond, duly executed by the bidder as principal and having as surety thereon a surety company meeting the requirements as referenced in the Instructions to Bidders in the amount of 10% of the bid. Such checks or bid bond will be returned to all except the three lowest bidders within ten days after the opening of bids, and the remaining cash, checks or bid bonds will be returned promptly after the Owner and the accepted bidder have executed the contract. The Owner reserves the right to reject all Bids; to reject any non-responsive Bid; to waive informalities in the Bids; and to determine the low, responsive, responsible Bid. The Owner reserves the right to award the project in a manner that is deemed by the Owner to be in the best interests of the Duckett Creek Sanitary District. The work includes, but is not limited to, installation of approximately 4,900 lineal feet of 8" force main using primarily trenchless (horizontal directional drilling) methods. Open cut installation will be allowed in some locations. Work also includes but is not limited to excavation, erosion control, site restoration, traffic control, and ancillary work as necessary for a complete and satisfactory project as shown on the Drawings and specified herein. The successful bidder will be required to agree that not less than the prevailing rate of wages will be paid to all workmen, laborers, and mechanics performing their work under this contract. The alignment follows Wyndgate Valley Drive, goes south on Paul Renaud Blvd, turns west on Diehr Rd, then crosses Grayleaf Ct to the southwest. CMT has indicated the sewer will likely be constructed with both cut and cover and jack and bore techniques.
