A. The project generally consists of, but is not limited to, the following work: 1. Remove existing shingles, flashing, boots, caps and felt down to the sheathing. Replace with new architectural shingles and materials as specified. 2. Install standing seam metal roofing on the front porches. B. The work occurs at six different sites within the City of Lebanon and two sites within the City of Watertown, Tennessee. All bidders must be licensed Contractors as required by the Contractors Licensing Act of 1994 (TCA Title 62, Chapter 6) of the General Assembly of the State of Tennessee. No bid will be opened unless the outside of the sealed envelope containing the bid provides the following information: the Contractor's name, license number, the date of the license's expiration, and a quotation of that part of his classification applying to the bid. Each prime bidder must deposit with his bid security in the amount of 5 percent of the bid. Bid Bonds and Performance and Payment Bonds must be secured by a guaranty, or a surety company listed in the latest issue of U.S. Treasury Circular 570 and shall be within the maximum amount specified for such company in said Circular 570. The "Bid Bond" and the "Performance and Payment Bond" must be issued by a surety company authorized to do business in the state where the project is located and must be listed in U.S. Treasury Circular No. 570. The right is reserved to reject any or all bids or to waive any informalities in the bidding. No bidder may withdraw his bid within 60 days after the actual date of the opening thereof.
