WEST LOCUST STREET RESURFACING PROJECT AND WORK INCIDENTAL THERETO IN AND FOR THE CITY OF DAVENPORT, IOWA For all bids over $100,000, the City of Davenport requires a Bid Bond of 5% of the bid amount. A copy of the front page of the bid bond must be attached in the Response Attachments tab of the bid package. Bids over $100,000, submitted without a bid bond will not be considered. For awarded bids over $100,000, the awarded contractor will be required to furnish a Performance Bond in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract amount, and said bond to be issued by a responsible surety approved by the City and shall guarantee the faithful performance of the Contract and the terms and conditions therein contained. Working Days - The contractor shall begin construction on or before the date specified and complete all work, including final cleanup and removal of all equipment within 70 working days. Liquidated Damages - Liquidated Damages per Day which for this project is $1,000 per day The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive technicalities and irregularities, if it is deemed in the public interest to do so Project Manager The City Engineer or his designated representatives shall be the Project Manager. 2. Scope of Work and Scheduling The work includes the furnishing of all labor, materials, equipment, and services necessary for a HMA resurfacing, including but not limited to: milling of existing pavement, HMA placement, construction survey, staking, full depth patching, PCC curb, PCC ADA ramps and sidewalk, utility adjustments, backfill, thermoplastic pavement marking and painted symbols and legends, temporary traffic control, sign removal and replacement and seeding. The quantities herein represent the Engineer's estimate of the amount of work to be completed. Actual as-built quantities may vary from bid quantities. The Contractor shall be responsible for all survey and construction staking including subgrade, subbase, pavement, and sidewalk. The contract time shall be per SUDAS Section 1080-1.02, A.3.a, Specified Start Date. The contract site is currently available. It is anticipated that the contract will be awarded on July 26, 2023. The Notice to Proceed will be issued as soon as the contract is executed by the City. The specified start date set by the Notice to Proceed will be approximately two weeks from the date of the Notice. The contractor shall begin construction on or before the date specified and complete all work, including final cleanup and removal of all equipment within 70 working days. Liquidated damages shall be as indicated in Iowa DOT Table for Proposal Guarantee and Liquidated Damages per Day which for this project is $1,000 per day
