This project, RICN 2023-CH-011 - Pavement Improvements - CHA, WES, Federal Aid Nos. NHP-RESF(448), NHPG-RESF(449), and 3RD-PRTY(334.ESC), primarily includes the pavement resurfacing of two (2) roadway segments: US Route 1 - Broad Street, Granite Street, and Franklin Street and US Route 1 - Post Road, and the pavement reclamation of a section of Old Post Road within the towns of Charlestown and Westerly, RI. The total length of pavement is approximately 6.76 miles, with the segments defined as follows: 1. US Route 1 - Broad Street, Granite Street, and Franklin Street from Union Street to Bellaire Street in Westerly 2. US Route 1 - Post Road from Robin Hollow Lane in Westerly to Tamanaco Drive in Charlestown 3. Old Post Road from US Route 1 - Post Road to US Route 1 - Post Road RIDOT - Pavement Improvements - CHA, WES FEDERAL-AID PROJECT NO. NHP-RESF(448), NHPG-RESF(449) & 3RD-PRTY(334.ESC) BRIEF SCOPE OF WORK This project, Rhode Island Contract No. 2023-CH-0011, Federal Aid Project No. NHPRESF(448), NHPG-RESF(449) & 3RD-PRTY(334.ESC) is for Pavement improvements on U.S. Route 1 (Broad Street, Franklin Street & Granite St) from Union Street to Bellaire Street, U.S. Route 1 (Post Road) from Robin Hollow Road to Tamanaco Drive and Old Post Road (Rte. 1A) at Klondike Road in the Towns of Charlestown and Westerly, Rhode Island, Washington County. The work will include, but not be limited to, full width micro milling and overlay, replacing existing berm, full depth reclamation with calcium chloride, cleaning and sweeping of pavement, installation of pavement marking, installation of stormwater treatment units and swales, cleaning and flushing of the drainage system, guardrail approach end replacement, new median guardrail, catch basin repairs, pedestrian push button extensions, installation of ADA compliant wheelchair ramps and all incidentals, complete in place and accepted, to complete the work of the contract to the satisfaction of the Engineer. In accordance with Section 108.08, Failure to Complete on Time, Para. a., Phased Completion, Interim Completion and Substantial Completion the following defines the Interim and Substantial Completion Dates and Associated Liquidated Damages: Interim Completion: December 1, 2023 All micromilling, paving (friction course, Mod. Class 9.5 HMA w/pay adjustments, Class 19.0 HMA), reclamation, adjustments and/or repairs to drainage structures, waterborne paint pavement markings, epoxy resin pavement markings, and pedestrian landings shall be completed on U.S. Route 1 (Post Road), from Robin Hollow Lane to Tamanaco Drive, on Old Post Rd (1) (Sta. 509+10 -523+44+-) and on Old Post Rd (2) (Sta. 600+61- 615+10+-) as defined by Section 101.71. Liquidated Damages: $1,950.00 per calendar day. All Contract work shall be completed, as defined by Section 101.71. Liquidated Damages: $2,350.00 per calendar day.
