Relocation of the Ontario Science Centre to the Ontario Place lands. The new OSC aims to deliver a unique architectural and energy efficient flagship facility at the newly redeveloped Ontario Place site. The new facility will consist of a new building with multi-story, underground parking, located on the mainland and a retrofit of the existing heritage pod and Cinesphere complex. The new OSC will replace the existing facility located at 770 Don Mills Rd., North York, ON. The Science Centre will be housed in a new custom-built, state-of-the-art facility, as well as in the iconic Cinesphere and Pod complex. The new OSC will replace the existing facility located at 770 Don Mills Rd, North York, ON. In addition to replacing the existing facility, the OSC will be implementing innovative measures to improve access to science programming and enhance operational efficiencies. The new state-of-the-art facility will also integrate and embody sustainability principles. TIMELINE: A Request For Proposals from Consulting Services has closed with the Owner. Addendum, the closing date was extended. The awarded proponent will provide Planning, Design and Compliance Services for future Request For Proposals for design-build Consortia. Schedules for design, tender and construction are undetermined pending provincial funding allocation. Official bid documents must be obtained from www.merx.com and bid submissions must be done through the Merx platform.
