These bids will be for the furnishing of all tools, equipment, materials and labor for Bid No. 8-2023, collecting, transporting, and disposing residentially generated Garbage and as designated from the Town of Haverstraw. Work will be in performed in accordance with this Request for Bids for Bid No. 8-2023, including the contract documents, plans, specifications, instructions to bidders, contract specifications, general provisions, etc. prepared by the Town of Haverstraw for said project. The Town of Haverstraw is issuing this Request for Bids for curbside pick up. Any Bids not delivered in person shall be mailed to the Town Clerk, Town of Haverstraw, One Rosman Road, Garnerville, New York 10923. All Bids shall be submitted in sealed envelopes and shall be plainly marked on the outside with the statement "Bid Documents Enclosed" and with the Contractor's name and the title of the Bid The requirements for Bidders which concern non-discrimination are explained in the Bid documents. The Town of Haverstraw is an exempt organization under the Tax Law and is exempt from payment of sales and compensating use taxes of the State of New York and cities and counties of the State on all materials which are to be incorporated into the project and which are to be separately sold by the Contractor to the Town prior to incorporation into the project, pursuant to the provisions of the Contract. These taxes are not to be included in the Bid. The attention of Bidders is directed to the applicable Federal and State requirements, and to the "NON-COLLUSION STATEMENT" in the Bid Forms. Each Bid must be accompanied by a certified check for a sum equal to ten percent (10%) of the total annual amount for the first year of the Bid, to wit, -January 1, 2024 to December 31, 2024, payable to the Town of Haverstraw, or a bond with sufficient sureties to be approved by the attorney for the Town, in a sum equal to ten percent (10%) of the total annual amount for the first year of the Bid, to wit, January 1, 2024 to December 31, 2024, conditioned that if their bid is accepted, they will enter into a Contract for the same, and that he will execute such further security as may be required for the faithful performance of the Contract as set forth in these contract documents. A performance and payment bond by a company satisfactory to the Town and renewable each year of the Contract each in an amount of not less than one hundred percent (100%) of the total annual amount of the Contract for that year will be required of the successful Bidder. The Town Board reserves the unrestricted right to accept or reject any and all bids and to waive informalities therein. No Bidder may withdraw his Bid for forty-five (45) days after the date set for opening thereof.
