Bids are subject to CITY OF STURGIS Purchasing Policy & Guidelines section 2.1. Question Deadline 06/30/2023 at 12:00 AM ET If Bidders have questions, they may contact Mr. Rick Miller, Director of Public Services, (269) 651-2879. The City of Sturgis is requesting bids for Seal-Coating and Re-Striping at (13) different locations located within the City. Specifications are as follows: Sealcoating Surface Preparation o Edge grass bordering pavement where needed. o Remove any plant or weed growth. o Thoroughly clean all pavement to remove any dirt and debris prior to application. Sealer o The sealer used must be Commercial Grade, Asphalt Emulsion. o The emulsion must include a modified latex hardening agent. o The emulsion must be mixed with 2 to 4 lbs. of silica sand per gallon. Sand is to be included in all applied coats. o The material used must be homogenous and show no separation or coagulation of components that cannot be overcome by moderate stirring. It shall be capable of application and complete coverage, by squeegee, brush or by approved mechanical methods, to the surface of bituminous pavements at a spreading rate of 1.7 to 2.5 gallons per 100 square feet. o The coating must firmly set in not more than eight hours and be traffic ready in 24 hours. Application of Sealer o Apply (2) coats of Commercial Grade, Asphalt Emulsion. o The coatings shall be applied at a rate of 1.7 to 2.5 gallons per 100 sqft
