The work includes, but is not limited to replace the main lifting mechanisms of the 4 gates along with fabrication and installation of 4 new gates. Major components to be replaced include wire rope, sheaves, sheave, bushings, sheave shafts and replacing the pillow block bearings. Minor components associated with these items are also replaced as required. The gear reducer is rehabbed by replacing seals, bearings, and gearbox fluid. The wire rope drum is cleaned and reused, and the motor is reused. The Electrical replacement requirements for this project are installation of new permanent LED light fixtures that will illuminate the operating floor EL 880.0 Feet for each service gate slot and each emergency gate slot. The main activities are dogging-off gates and inspecting each gate as is rises through its lower slot, and the removal of existing interior original light fixtures that illuminate EL. 913.0 Feet and to replace them with new LED light fixtures and lastly the removal of existing outdoor control tower light fixtures installed at the roof elevation at the parapet walls. The replace of the railing at the wells will be changed from angled steel to replaced with speed rails. There will also be a need for installation of catwalk, to inspect the lifting sleeves in the future.
