Through a voter approved bond election in May 2022, City Council issued general obligation bonds for the principal amount of $45M for the purpose of; purchasing land, easements, rights-of-way, and any other real property to design, construct, and equip a Public Safety Facility. This facility will house Police, Fire Adminstration, Emergency Operations, Municipal Court, and associated technology needs. Architectural analysis confirmed space needs of 69,000 square feet. This project will track all expenditures related to the Public Safety Facility through construction completion and move in. This project is included in the city's Fiscal Years 2023-2032 Capital Improvement Program. As of October 25, 2023, further details regarding design and construction timelines have not been identified. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
