Project is cancelled. The Town of Southbridge is seeking bids for the renovation and improvements to an existing town owned property to accommodate an animal shelter at the location. The construction project will include site-work, demolition of the interior to the existing structure, construction of an addition and associated plumbing, electrical and heating and ventilation. Each Bid and filed sub-bid must be accompanied by a bid security consisting of a BID BOND, CASH, or, CERTIFIED CHECK issued by a responsible ank or trust company in the amount of 5% of the bid price. A performance bond in an amount equal to 100 percent of the total amount of the contract price with a surety company qualified to do business in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts will be required for the faithful performance of the contract as well as a labor and materials bond in an amount equal to 100 percent of the total contract price. The Town reserves the right to waive any informalities, to accept or reject, in whole or in part any or all bids, or take whatever other action may be deemed to be in the best interest of the Town. The estimated cost for this project is $600,000. The Work consists of renovations and improvements to an existing town owned property to accommodate an animal shelter. The project includes site work, demolition of the interior of the existing structure, construction of an addition and associated plumbing, electrical, and HVAC. The location, general characteristics, and principal details of the Work are indicated on plans entitled: Animal Control Building, Town of Southbridge, Evergreen Street, Southbridge, MA 01550. Additional drawings showing details in accordance with which the Work is to be done may be furnished by addendum from time to time during the bidding period by the Owner or its Architect/Engineer, and shall then become a part of the Contract Documents. The Contractor shall furnish all labor, services, materials, equipment, plant, machinery, apparatus, appliances, tools, supplies, and all other things necessary to do all work required for the completion of each item of the Work and as herein specified. The Work to be done and paid for under any item shall not be limited to the exact extent mentioned or described but shall include all incidental work necessary or customarily done for the completion of that item.
