The contractor is responsible for meeting all New York State Department of Transportation ADA rules, regulations, and pedestrian facilities specifications. It is the intent of this request to solicit proposals for materials, equipment, and labor to resurface with asphalt various roads within the limits of the Village of Green Island. The successful bidder will furnish all the materials, labor, and equipment to deliver, place and compact the asphalt as per the specifications and in accordance with New York State Department of Transportation approved materials. The curb ramps at the intersections of the approved resurfaced roadways will be improved in accordance with New York State Department of Transportation approved specifications. The detectable warning surfaces should be based on a cast ironed embedded, standard 5' base landing. MATERIALS AND WORKMANSHIP - all materials and workmanship shall comply with applicable specifications of items listed in Standard Specifications, Construction and Materials. New York State Department of Transportation Design and Construction, dated January 2, 1981, and addenda TYPE OF ASPHALT -All applied asphalt concrete shall be New York State Department of Transportation Specification 403.13 Type 6 F PREP WORK-All roads to be milled 2", swept with street sweeper. Any break- through found, will be boxed and filled with 2" binder before T&L. All manholes, valve boxes and catch basins will be milled TACK COAT - To be applied at .06 gallons per sq. yd. All frames and grates to have Tack thoroughly applied at surfaces EQUIPMENT - Bituminous pavers shall be a self-powered unit having an activated screen assembly. The screen assembly shall be heated necessary to produce a finished surface of the required evenness and texture without tearing, shoving or gouging the mixture. All bituminous pavers shall be equipped with approved automatic transverse slope and longitudinal screen controls. The controls shall operate from suitable fixed or moving references. Steel Wheel rollers shall be self-propelled, and an 8-to-10-ton tandem type. Exceptions to this provision must be approved by the Village of Green Island. Paving must be edge to edge. Keyways required on all intersecting roads and driveways by contractor. Bidders are required to verify and field measure each street, with a designated Village employee.
