The proposed project is located in Graham County on US-191, from milepost (MP) 104.50 to MP 113.61, south of Safford. The work consists of pavement and minor bridge rehabilitation. The work includes milling and repaving of mainline travel lanes, shoulders, and bridge decks overlay, removing and replacing cattle guards, guard rails, shoulder build-up, pavement marking, and other related work. AZDOT - Pavement Rehabilitation The contractor shall prepare and submit traffic control plans to the Engineer for review and approval two weeks prior to the start of the project construction activities (or at the Preconstruction Conference). The traffic control plans shall conform to the requirements of Part 6 of the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD), 2009, the Arizona Department of Transportation Temporary Traffic Control Design Guidelines, 2019, the Arizona Supplement to the (MUTCD) 2009, these Special Provisions and to Section 701 Maintenance and Protection of Traffic of the ADOT Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction, 2021. Construction work activities that impact traffic shall not begin until the traffic plan and days and times impacted have been approved by the Engineer. No separate measurement or direct payment will be made for the preparation and submittal of traffic control plans for review and approval; it will be considered included in the price of contract bid items. The contractor shall contact Department of Public Safety (DPS) and or Local Law Enforcement, local Fire Department and local ambulance services a minimum of 72 hours in advance of any roadway restrictions.
