DESCRIPTION OF WORK: The project is generally described as: Provide all labor, materials, tools, equipment, services, transportation, and incidentals necessary for providing and installing the components for the Orbal drives replacement at the Ashland Wastewater Treatment Plant, including associated appurtenances. All work shall be as described in the Project Manual and shown on the Contract Drawings. All work shown on Drawings and/or called for in these Specifications shall be performed under the General Contract, unless specifically noted to the contrary in the Contract Documents. The Project includes, however is not limited to: a. Replacing the mechanical drives for the Orbal Oxidation Ditch b. Replacing the shafts as required for the new mechanical drive replacements c. Removing existing disks from the shafts to be replaced and reinstalling them on the new shafts. d. Replacing miscellaneous components of the Orbal Oxidation Ditch Aeration System including: 1) Couplings 2) Bearings e. Replacing existing two speed drives with variable frequency drives and associated electrical work. f. Replacing and upgrading the HVAC system in the electrical room. Sealed bids for the Ashland Wastewater Treatment Plant (AWWTP) Orbal Drives Replacement project Consideration for withdrawal of bids shall comply with the Code of Virginia 2.2-4330B(1).
