De-icing : Set of operations by which the contractor removes hardened ice or snow and/or reduces its thickness using appropriate equipment and materials. Winter maintenance : Term used for snow removal and/or de-icing operations or for any other operation necessary for the maintenance of the road network during the period of the contract. GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS This call for tenders covers snow and ice removal for the entire road network of the Municipality of Sainte-Clotilde-de-Horton; The length of the roads to be maintained is approximately 91.56 kilometers (see detailed list in Annex I); The tender must be presented on the forms provided for this purpose by the Municipality of Sainte-Clotilde-de-Horton. The duration of a contractual season extends from the date of the first fall of snow or ice until the end date of the thaw period decreed by the Ministere des Transports du Quebec for zone 1. 18. DURATION OF THE CONTRACT AND RENEWAL At the end of the first contractual season, the contract is renewed by tacit agreement for a new contractual season if neither party has indicated its contrary intention by a written notice sent to the other party before the date of May 1 . . The contract expires at the end of the third (3 rd ) contract season or the fifth (5 th ) contract season according to the contract award decreed by the Municipal Council.
