The Town of Annapolis Royal is undertaking the installation of a net-metered photovoltaic system to offset the energy requirements to operate the ultraviolet (UV) sterilization system at their sewage treatment plant in Annapolis Royal, Nova Scotia. This undertaking will coincide with additional maintenance and development at the site including the installation of a backup generator for the UV system, land forming, and the installation of an additional settling pond on the property. All work will take place over the course of the Summer and Fall of 2023. The worksite will be encompassed within the parcel of land with the PID 05001862, see attached map. The Town of Annapolis Royal is seeking to contract services for the installation of an appropriate solar array capable of meeting the energy requirement to operate the UV sterilization unit including system design, permitting, liaising with NSP as necessary, installation, final inspection, and connection. Project management will be provided by the Town of Annapolis Royal, including the hiring and management of additional contractors to provide services necessary for the successful completion of this project (e.g. land clearing, land forming, electrician services).
