Site Directions: 3003 5th Avenue, South Milwaukee Wisconsin 53172 Wastewater Treatment Facility - Storage Building, with the following items of work: 1. Demolition of existing building 40x100 2. Construction of new building 40x100 3. Relocate electrical service to new building 4. Miscellaneous items applicable to the above work. Prequalification forms for 2023 are required to be on file in the Office of the City Engineer for all contractors and subcontractors at least seven (7) days prior to bid opening. The Common Council's decision as to qualification shall be final. All proposals must be submitted on a form provided for that purpose as issued within the Document Set, together with a certified check or a bid bond not less than five (5%) percent of the bid, payable to the City of South Milwaukee as a guarantee that, if the bid accepted, the bidder will execute and file the contract and a performance bond in the amount of one hundred (100%) percent of the total proposal price within ten (10) working days after the award of the contract. Proposal must be placed in a sealed opaque envelope addressed to: "City Clerk, City of South Milwaukee, Wisconsin" and marked "Proposal for Waste Water Treatment Facility - Storage Building". If the bid is sent by mail, the sealed envelope shall be enclosed in a separate mailing envelope with the notation "Sealed Bid Enclosed" on the face thereof. Failure to execute such contract and performance bond shall be cause for forfeiture of the check or bid bond as liquidated damages. It is anticipated that a contract will be awarded by the South Milwaukee Common Council on Tuesday, August 15, 2023, and the work shall be complete by June 1, 2024. The City of South Milwaukee reserves the right to reject any or all bids and waive any informalities in the bidding.
