The City of Middletown, Ohio - Information Systems is seeking bids for the purchase and installation of a clean agent fire suppression system to be located in the City of Middletown's server room. The fire suppression system will be replacing an older halon fire suppression system after it erroneously discharged and leaked agent. Due to the room containing daily-use technical equipment that is required for public safety, it is imperative that the clean agent not cause further damage to the equipment in the event of a fire. The server room is currently equipped with a VESDA LaserPLUS air sampling system that is still functioning properly. While not a requirement, you may submit a proposal with a replacement for this system, but please include details on why the replacement system is necessary as well as include the cost for it separately. Indicate whether the proposal solution would require the specific air sampling system recommended or if the VESDA LaserPLUS system currently in place will suffice. Proposals that will be strongly considered are those that attend the required site walkthrough and include design, installation, and testing plans as well as maintenance services required to keep the system functioning properly. Include any necessary training plans needed to provide personnel with the knowledge of how to use the system and maintain proper maintenance schedules. Other factors taken into consideration for selection include company pedigree, quality of products proposed, total cost of proposal, and company locality. The right to reject any and all proposals is reserved by the City of Middletown. Informalities may be waived at the option of the City Council.
