Project: This is a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for Construction Managers to submit qualifications for consideration to become the Construction Manager at Risk (Chapter 149A) for a new skating rink to be constructed in Belmont MA. The new rink will replace the existing Skip Viglirolo skating rink at 297 Concord Ave in Belmont. The existing rink will be demolished this Summer the new rink will be located in the approximate location of the existing. Questions or requests for clarification regarding the RFQ should be directed to The Awarding Authority through Don White e-mail dwhite@chacompanies.com Any questions must be submitted no later than June 2, 2023, at 2:00pm. A new steel framed Pre Engineered Metal Building will be erected to house the new rink complex with a conventional 200' x 85' ice sheet, along with four team locker rooms, four general dressing rooms, public toilet facilities, bleacher seating for approximately 200, concession stand along with support spaces for Ice Making equipment and mechanical / electrical rooms. Total size of the proposed rink is 40,300 SF. The roof of the main building will be covered in PV Solar Panels. The estimated value of the Construction Cost is +/- $22,600,000. The Minority Business Enterprise and Women Business Enterprise (MBE/WBE) participation goal for this project is a combined goal of 10.4%.
