**As of August 17 2023, project was awarded, start date is Mid of September and will be completed by end of this year** The purpose of this Invitation for Bids (IFB) is to establish a contract to furnish/provide construction services, entailing the replacement of two variable frequency drives (VFDs) and two step down transformers, with two new VFDs equipped with reduced voltage soft starter (RVSS) bypasses, two 4.16kV/480V transformers, and associated electrical appurtenances at Newport News Waterworks' Diascund Creek Pump Station. Question Submission Deadline :June 14, 2023, 1:00pm Work to be completed in: 560 Days (Substantial), 588 Days (Final). Liquidated Damages: $800.00 per calendar day after time for Substantial Completion has expired. $400.00 per calendar day after time for Final Completion has expired. Performance Bond: 100%. Payment Bond: 100%. Bid Security: 5%. The City will make the award based on the Total Bid to the lowest responsive and responsible Bidder. The City reserves the right to conduct any test it may deem advisable and make all evaluations. The City also reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to award whole or in part, and to waive informalities prior to making the award, whenever it is deemed to be in its best interest.
