A new 195,500 sf high-rise medical education building housing, gross anatomy laboratory, medical simulation, temporal bone laboratory, cadaver storage, administration office, classrooms, learning studios, entry forum space, commercial kitchen and dining areas. The project is targeting LEED silver certification. Total Construction Budget: $154,000,000 $133,000,00 (Building) $ 21,000,000 (Site) Mechanical Construction Budget: $ 13,479,000 ($68.93 / SF) Plumbing Construction Budget: $ 3,069,000 ($15.69 / SF) Fire Protection Construction Budget: $ 1,230,726 ($6.29 / SF) Jacobsen Construction Company, Inc. (hereinafter referred to as "Contractor") has been selected by Division of Construction and Facilities Management, hereinafter referred to as "Owner", to be the Contractor for new construction of Spencer Fox Eccles an the University of Utah, hereinafter referred to as the "Project". Contractor invites qualified trade contractors and vendors (hereinafter referred to as "Subcontractor") to submit proposals for the applicable Work Scope. Please refer to individual Work Scopes for the extent of work. ***The intent of this RFP is to select design assist team members in the CD development phase of the Project to work with the Contractor and Design Team in early construction coordination efforts and establishing and controlling target design costs.*** RFP submission includes providing a detailed estimate, qualifications and management plan. The estimate submitted will establish a "Fixed Limit of Construction Cost" or "FLCC". Subcontractor partners will work through the CD development phase to assist, advise, and collaborate with the team to achieve or come below the FLCC for their scope of work as described in the RFP. If this is achieved, the intent is that those selected to participate in the pre-construction phase will be awarded the contract for construction. This Project will be a part of a Subcontract Default Insurance (SDI) program. All Subcontractors submitting a bid for this Project must be currently enrolled in Contractor's prequalification program for their bids to be evaluated. Questions during the bidding process regarding bid procedures, Work Scope requirements, or construction documents should be addressed in writing to Contractor c/o Shaun Robbins at srobbins@jbuild.com. No others are to be contacted about the Project.
