This project will provide design and construction to convert the existing electrical distribution from 4kV to 12kV at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, CA. The existing 4kV system does not meet current codes and standards. In addition, the existing load exceeds the current capacity. Future growth in the area will make the system unreliable and substandard. The new 12kV distribution system shall be sized for a capacity of 6 MVA. Work shall include, but is not limited to: installation of overhead and underground copper conductors, installation of new poles, crossarms, insulators, fuse cutouts, pole and pad mounted transformers, duct banks, switches and other related incidental work. Refer to Part 6 for limits of work. The existing 4kV system shall remain active throughout the entire project construction. The new .12kV system shall be constructed in a way that allow the loads to transition from the existing 4kV to the new 12kV without any major interruptions in the electrical service. Once the new 12kV system has been constructed, interruptions during the cut-over period from the 4kV to the new12kV system shall be kept at a minimum. But not limited to please review the specifications for more information. Magnitude of Construction: $250M - $500M Prevailing Wages Apply. Contract duration = 730 calendar days
