The scope of work for this project consists of providing labor, equipment and materials for construction work generally consisting of, but not limited to, masonry repairs of abutments and wingwalls, water handling to complete repairs, and site restoration as detailed within the Contract Documents (Project Manual along with the Construction Plans.) Each Bid shall be accompanied by a Bid Deposit for and subject to the conditions provided in the Instruction to Bidders section of the Project Manual. The amount of the Bid Deposit shall not be less than five percent (5%) of the amount of the Bid for the proposed work. If Bid Bonds are submitted, they shall be issued by a company qualified to do business in the State of Connecticut. The successful Bidder must furnish a Performance Bond and a Payment Bond each in the amount of 100% of the Contract Price, with a corporate surety approved by the Town of Thomaston, for the faithful performance of the Contract. Complete instructions for filing Bids are included in the Instruction To Bidders section of the Contract Documents. All work for this Project shall be completed within 90 calendar days, after execution of the Contract of issuance of the Notice to Proceed. Bid period inquiries regarding the Work required by the Contract Documents shall be directed, in writing, to Town of Thomaston Superintendent of Highways, Glenn Clark, gclark@thomastonct.org at the email address noted and Cc: cpacker@blcompanies.com. Inquiries, questions or clarifications shall be submitted at least seven (7) days prior to the opening of bids. No oral questions will be accepted nor will any oral interpretations be given.
