The LUDLOW HOUSING AUTHORITY, (the Owner and Awarding Authority), invites sealed bids from General Contractors for construction of INTERIOR ACCESSIBILITY MODIFICATIONS at the Authority's Wilson Street Elderly Housing Development in Ludlow, Massachusetts; in accordance with the documents prepared by Leon Pernice And Associates Inc., AIA, ArchitectsPlanners-Interior Designers, 34 Mt Pleasant Avenue, West Springfield, Massachusetts. The Project consists of comprehensive interior updating and renovations in 1 Congregate, 4-Bedroom accessible group unit with 1 Kitchen and 2 Bathrooms; in an existing 1-Story, 3--dwelling unit building. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the Notice to Proceed for this Project may be issued as much as 90 days from the date the Ludlow Housing Authority approves the construction contract. The work is estimated to cost $ 302,273.00. Bids are subject to M.G.L. c.149 44A-J and to minimum wage rates as required by M.G.L.c.149 26 to 27H inclusive. Each general bidder must be certified by the division of capital asset management and maintenance (dcammcommonwealth of massachusetts) in the category of work general building construction and must submit with its bid a current dcamm prime contractor certificate of eligibility and a signed dcamm prime contractor update statement. General bidders must agree to contract with minority and women owned business enterprises as certified by the supplier diversity office (sdo), formerly somwba. The combined participation benchmark reserved for such enterprises shall not be less than 13% of the final contract price. Requests for waivers must be sent to dhcd (david.Mcclave@mass.Gov) 5 calendar days prior to the general bid date. No waivers will be granted after bids are opened.
