The City of Des Moines (City), pursuant to Iowa Code Chapter 26A, will be publishing a request for statements of qualifications (RFQs) for Construction Manager at Risk (CMR) services to provide Preconstruction and Construction services for its proposed North Side Community Recreation Center project in the City of Des Moines. The project is located on a 4.5-acre site on the north side of College Avenue between 9 th and 11 th streets in Des Moines, IA. The project consists of new construction of a community recreation center facility, along with associated site improvements, parking, and demolition of an existing building. The building includes an indoor pool, gymnasium, fitness studios, community rooms, locker rooms and other elements to support recreational and community activities. The project is located on a 4.5-acre site, on the north side of College Avenue between 9th and 11th Streets, as identified in the Vicinity Map and Project Site Map in Attachment 4. The project site includes the existing John R. Grubb Community YMCA and adjacent City-owned property. The CMR will be engaged using a two-step solicitation process: (1) Request for Qualifications and (2) Request for Proposals. The three CMR firms deemed to have the most sufficient qualifications based on the following selection criteria will then be offered the opportunity to submit a proposal to serve as CMR for the project: Question Deadline 07/13/2023 at 5:00 PM CT Request for Clarifications Any questions concerning the SOQs, must be received in accordance with Section 12 below and should be directed to Jake Knudtson, P.E., Civil Engineer I, jpknudtson@dmgov.org.
