On request, and to the extent Owner has control over the Site, Owner will provide Bidder access to the Site to conduct such examinations, investigations, explorations, tests, and studies as Bidder deems necessary for submission of a Bid. Owner will not have any obligation to grant such access if doing so is not practical because of existing operations, security or safety concerns, or restraints on Owners authority regarding the Site. Our scope of services for this project did not include laboratory tests on subgrade soils to determine an R-value for pavement design. Based on our experience with similar poorly graded sand with silt soils anticipated at the pavement subgrade elevation along Saylor Street, we recommend pavement design assume an R-value of 30 for this street. Based on our experience with similar silty sand and lean clay soils anticipated at the pavement subgrade elevations along Martin Street and Lorane Drive, we recommend pavement design assume an R-value of 10 for Martin Street and Lorane Drive. Note the contractor may need to perform limited removal of unsuitable or less suitable soils to achieve this value. Table 7 provides recommended pavement sections, based on the soils support and traffic loads. Major quantities of the Work include: Bit Reclamation 7513 SQ YD Common Excavation 2389 CU YD Culverts 800 LIN FT Bituminous Paving 2000 TONS Turf Establishment 1.8 AC Digital image copies of the Bidding Documents are available Electronically for a fee of $30. For this project, bids will ONLY be received electronically. Contractors submitting an electronic bid will be charged an additional $42 at the time of bid submission via the online electronic bid service
