The City is seeking proposalsfrom qualified Proponentsfor the design, supply and installation of two (2) playground structures at two (2) City parks located within the municipal boundaries of Dawson Creek. As outlined in the attached Appendix A - Scope of Work, this RFP is for two (2) playground projects, which will be referred to in this RFP as Playground 1 - Mile Zero Park (formerly Rotary Lake) and Playground 2 - Kin Park. All playground structures will be installed on land owned by the City. As part of its annual playground renewal program, the City is embarking on improvements to two (2) playground structures. The sites for each of the playground structures will be in existing park areas with excellent access to each of the proposed locations. Each of the playgrounds projects have different themes and general requirements. Each playground project has a separate budget, which are not interchangeable. a) Playground 1 - Mile Zero Park is currently undergoing updates to various components of the Park and the City is with currently working with a local not-for-profit society, Mile Zero Park Society develop a new conceptual redevelopment plan for the park, which is intended to be completed in June 2023. A budget of $260,000 (not including taxes) has been assigned to this project. b) Playground 2 - Kin Park features a combination of manicured park space and natural areas and has a waterbody known as Dawson Creek that runs through it. A budget of $400,000 (not including taxes) has been assigned to this project. Documents can be obtained from www.bcbid.gov.bc.ca
