The scope of work includes, seeking bids from a qualified and licensed general contractor to replace the mailbox system. Project location: 624 Nye Avenue located in Irvington, NJ. Question Deadline 05/30/2023 at 2:00 PM ET Bidders shall submit RFIs no later than Bidders must be registered with the New Jersey Department of Treasury, Division of Revenue and with the New Jersey Department of Labor as a Public Works contractor at the time the bids are received. The Authority does not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, sex, national origin, creed, color, ancestry, age, marital status, affectional or sexual orientation, familial status, liability for service in the Armed Forces of the United States, or nationality. The Authority invites the participation of Minority-Owned Business Enterprises in this solicitation and reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any informality in bidding. Bidders must also make positive efforts to offer employment, training and contracting opportunities in accordance with Section 3 of the Housing and Urban Development Act of 1968. Attention of bidders is particularly called to the requirements as to conditions of employment to be observed and minimum wage rates to be paid under the contract. Bidders are required to comply with the requirements of N.J.S.A. 10:5-31 et seq. and N.J.A.C. 17:27-1 et seq. Remove existing framing and widen rough opening to accommodate the new front loading USPS mail units listed below or equal. This requires careful cutting of the existing glazed block tile and removal of emu units. Remove block/tile from the bottom of openings to avoid disturbing existing lentils above openings. Properly dispose of all debris and control dust and debris during demolition. Wall 1: Purchase and install 1. Three (3)- 5 by 6 high, 4B+Horizontal Mailbox Units, Salisbury Industries model number 3630FL or equal 2. Two (2)- 4 by 6 high, 4B+ Horizontal Mailbox Units, Salisbury Industries model number 3624FL or equal, provide necessary wood frame blocking and support 3. Provides 133 usable mailboxes -Wall 2: Purchase and install 1. Three (3)- 4 by 6 high, 4B+Horizontal Mailbox Units, Salisbury Industries model number 3624FL or equal, provide necessary wood frame blocking and support 2. Provides 69 usable mailboxes Wall 3: Create a new rough opening to allow installation of two 4 wide by 6 high mailboxes units, total of 46 new useable mailboxes. See attached drawing "A-101" for location, work required includes: 1. Create rough opening to hold new boxes, approximate size 60" wide by 36" high 2. Salvage sufficient existing lobby wall tile to reinstall in front of new steel lentil 3. Install steel lentil and supporting bracing as shown in drawing "A-101" 4. Install new block fill and salvaged lobby wall tile at lentil location 5. Repaint wall in director's office where rough opening was created, corner to corner 6. Purchase and install two (2) 4 by 6, 4B+Horizontal Mailbox Units, Salisbury Industries model number 3624FL or equal mailbox units, provide necessary wood frame blocking and support 7. Provides 46 useable mailboxes The new wall opening requires contractor to apply and pay for for a building permit, create opening as shown in sheet "A-101" and have permitted work inspected and approved by local jurisdiction having authority
