**As of August 1, 2023 project was awarded to , but awarded amount is not available.** The Town of Jean Lafitte will receive sealed bids on a General Contract for Lafitte Warehouse, A/E Project No. 20-22027, complete with all necessary appurtenances. The work of this contract consists of construction of a new warehouse building adjacent to the Lafitte Safe House located on Treasure Street in Lafitte, Louisiana. The Contractor shall hold a Louisiana Contractor's license in Building Construction Classification. Contract, if awarded, will be on a unit price basis to a Bidder licensed under the provisions of the Contractors Licensing Law of the State of Louisiana. Bids shall remain binding for at least forty-five (45) days after the date set for Bid Opening. In the event the Owner issues the Letter of Award during this period, the bid accepted shall continue to remain binding until the Execution of Contract. Bidder expressly agreeing to the extension of the deadline for award provided in LSA R.S. 38:2215. Bid must be accompanied by bid security in the form of a bid bond, cashier's check, or certified check in favor of the Town of Jean Lafitte, in an amount not less than five percent of the Base Bid. Both performance and payment bonds will be required in an amount equal to 100 percent of the Contract Price. Surety companies providing bonding shall be licensed to do business in Louisiana. The Contractor is responsible for equipment and material delivery dates. A time extension to the contract duration will not be allowed for late material or equipment delivery and liquidated damages will be assessed if the contract extends beyond the contract period.
