In accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) subpart 14.209, Cancellation of invitations before opening., the following for cancellation of the Invitation for Bid (IFB) as per FAR 14.209 (a). This project is located in the Gila National Forest in western-central New Mexico. This project consists of replacing an existing bridge structure on Forest Route 141 (MP 24.36) over the South Fork Negrito Creek in Catron County, New Mexico.The existing single-span bridge's overall length is 40.8-ft and width (out-out) measures 26.4-ft.The existing roadway width is 24.0-ft. The solicitation was posted on the System of Awards Management (sam.gov) on September 14, 2023, under 6982AF23B000032. The bid opening date was set for October 17, 2023. No bids have been received to date. Due to the funding of this project being charged back by the Forest Service, this solicitation is being cancelled.Cancellation of the Invitation for Bid is in the public interest because the timing of funding for the project is currently unknown. The current plan is to resolicit in late 2023 or early 2024. Contractors will be notified via sam.gov. The authority for the of cancellation of Invitation for Bids, identified in FAR 14.209, rests with the Contracting Officer. PROJECT NUMBER: NM FS 141(1) Requisition number - HFLCEO230464PR PROJECT NAME: South Fork Negrito Creek Bridge Bid is c PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This project is in the Gila National Forest in western-central New Mexico. The terrain is rolling and mountainous with elevations ranging up to 7500 ft. The South Fork Negrito Bridge was constructed in 1959 and is past its life of 50 years. The deck has areas of delamination, the curbs are 100% delaminated and spalled and the stringers have flexure cracks. The most recent report indicates the structural evaluation of the bridge to be in poor condition. Proposal would replace this bridge with a similar structure, add bridge rail, transition and guardrail, and pave approaches 100' on each side of the bridge to keep rocks/debris/soil off the deck and to prevent sediment from entering. OF THE WORK: This project consists of replacing an existing bridge structure on Forest Route 141 (MP 24.36) over the South Fork Negrito Creek in Catron County, New Mexico.
