DPR Construction invites highly qualified firms to prequalify and submit Letters of Interest and Statement of Qualifications along with background information for construction services related to the: UVA Fontaine Central Energy Plant and Utilities RFP #22-102 Project Overview This project includes a +/- 18,000 GSF , 2 level, central energy plant building that will provide thermal utilities to the new Institute for Biotechnology building and other additional new and existing buildings at the Fontaine Research Park located near 500 Ray C Hunt Drive in Charlottesville, VA. The building will house mechanical equipment including boilers, chillers, pumps, generator, AHU's and a cooling tower as well as office space, elevator and interior circulation. Site work will include thermal water, electrical and other site utility ductbanks, thermal storage tanks, geothermal wells and new parking areas. The project will be awarded in phases: 1.) Early Design Assist Mechanical/Plumbing, Electrical, and Geothermal trade packages, 2.) Sitework and Site Utilities, and 3.) All other trades, including structure, exterior skin, and interior finishes. Preconstruction phase is expected to occur from June 2023 through January 2024, with the construction beginning in the Fall of 2023 continuing through Fall 2025. DPR Construction seeks to retain Mechanical/Plumbing, Electrical, and Geothermal Well Design-Assist partnerships to join our team during the design phase to provide cost estimating, value management, constructability reviews, early equipment release, BIM coordination, scheduling and construction services for DPR. These contracts will be awarded as a competitive RFP negotiation utilizing DPR's standard subcontract form. Remaining subcontractor packages will be awarded via the competitive bid process.
