2023 Paving The Towns of China and Vassalboro are seeking qualified bids for Hot Mix Asphalt Paving and Cold Mix Asphalt Paving. Provide a bid for each town considering asphalt tonnage and associated work. Include complete warranty information and proposed start date. Paving to be completed between July 10, 2023 and September 15, 2023 The China Select Board will review bids at the May 22, 2023 meeting beginning at 6:30pm and the Vassalboro Select Board will review bids at the May 25, 2023 meeting beginning at 6:30pm. Bids received will be opened publicly by officials of both municipalities at the bid deadline, with the bids expected to be awarded at the following and respective Select Board meetings. Consideration will be given to the most responsible, reliable, low bidder. The Board reserves the right to reject any or all bids at their discretion. All questions regarding this bid shall be directed to Shawn R eed, Public Works Director, China, 445-2014 ext. 4; and Eugene Field, Public Works Director, Vassalboro, 923-3985 or 441-7261. The Town of China and Town of Vassalboro will consider other alternatives treatments if beneficial and advantageous to the Town. Contractors should contact the China Public Works Director, Shawn R eed at 445- 2014 ext. 4 and Vassalboro Road Commissioner/ Public Works Director Gene Field 923-3985 or 441-7261 if there are any questions or to schedule a site visit to the scheduled work areas. The Town of China and Town of Vassalboro reserve the right to reject any or all bids, if the total bid exceeds the voter approved amount for paving within the town budget. Bids must be good for the 2023 paving season
