I. Projects in Excess of $150,000.00. Performance Bond or Payment Bond required as stated in Board Policy 7421 Public Contracts for Construction and other work Bonding and Security Requirements. Overlay existing tennis court using the modified slip sheet method, new asphalt and tennis court acrylic colored surfacing. o Carefully remove existing fence post, fence material, gates, and remaining fence items to be reinstalled after completion of court renovation. Material can be left onsite. o Protect any electrical outlet services. o Proof-roll existing tennis court surface with loaded tandem axle dump truck with a minimum weight of 15 tons. Excavate areas of excessive pumping or rutting. Replace rutted with compacted backfill. o Remove any weeds. Remove any old chalking. Blow cracks with air hose. o Cracks wider than 1 shall be filled with sand and Portland cement mix. o Add 2 minimum (with approved slope) of ABC stone or rock dust. o Add 2 of binder surface (NCDOT I19.0A). Compact with roller. o Add 1 of asphalt surface (NCDOT S9.5A of SF9.5A) Compact with roller. o Grade surface to approved slope (See Details). Grade area around tennis courts so water grade away from playing surface. o Flood surface to check for any bird baths out of specification of USTA/ASBA design specifications. o Use acrylic cushioning and color coating for tennis court surfacing. Use 100% acrylic emulsion for surface and line markings. o Reinstall existing fence and post.
